RARE Archive Jean Paul Gaultier "Crying Baby" Mesh Maxi Dress - Vintage - Stretch Tulle
Item Description:
Up for sale is a stunning and highly collectible museum piece, a true holy grail of archive fashion. This is a vintage sleeveless maxi dress by Jean Paul Gaultier, featuring the iconic and provocative "Crying Baby" graphic print from the late 90s / early 2000s era. The pattern showcases beautiful tribal/Maori swirling graphics in shades of black, grey, and white, strategically framing the signature peach-toned crying baby on the hip.
Fabric & Condition:
The garment is crafted from Jean Paul Gaultier's legendary sheer micro-mesh stretchy and fluid fabric. The dress is in excellent vintage condition: the mesh is fully intact, retains its perfect elasticity, and is free from any holes, tears, pulls, or stains.
Authenticity Verification (Please read carefully):
The fabric brand label was removed by the previous owner (an extremely common practice with these sheer mesh pieces, as the labels were scratchy or visible through the transparent fabric). However, the authenticity of the garment is 100% verified and proven by the following native structural details unique to Gaultier’s production, all documented in the macro photos:
The Signature Orange Contrast Stitching: The dress is entirely finished on the inside with the unmistakable bright orange overlock stitching, which serves as the maison's secret technical signature for its mesh garments.
Hidden JPG Monogram: As shown in the macro close-up photos, the initials "JPG" and letters of the signature are masterfully hidden and integrated into the black swirls of the trompe-l'œil tribal print.
Proprietary Graphic Print: The "Crying Baby" artwork is a registered, documented design from the historical archive of the maison.
Measurements (laid flat - highly stretchy fabric):
Shoulders: 38 cm
Pit to Pit: 52 cm
Total Length: 140 cm
This piece comfortably fits a modern Size M (relaxed fit) or a regular Size L (approx. IT 44-46 / US 8-10 / UK 12-14) due to the high elasticity of the mesh.

ZELDZAME Archief Jean Paul Gaultier "Crying Baby" Mesh Maxi Jurk - Vintage - Stretch Tule
Artikelbeschrijving:
Afmetingen (plat gemeten - zeer rekbare stof):
Schouders: 38 cm
Oksel tot oksel: 52 cm
Totale lengte: 140 cm
Dit stuk past comfortabel bij een moderne maat M (relaxte pasvorm) of een reguliere maat L (ongeveer IT 44-46 / US 8-10 / UK 12-14) vanwege de hoge elasticiteit van het mesh.
