💡 Trivia and History
Archive Piece (Modern Vintage): The Burberry Brit line (along with Prorsum and London) was discontinued and unified in 2015/2016 under the single "Burberry" brand. This makes items with the Brit label highly sought-after archive pieces in the second-hand market.
The origin of the Montgomery: The name "Montgomery" comes from the British General Bernard Montgomery, who made this coat iconic during the Second World War. It originated as a uniform for the Royal Navy sailors: the roomy shape and toggles with leather loops were designed to be easily fastened and unfastened without removing work gloves.
Double Protection: Unlike vintage Montgomery coats (which only had toggles, letting the wind pass through), this modern model includes a practical internal zip for high thermal insulation.
Double-Face Construction: The interior does not have a simple sewn-in synthetic lining, but is part of the fabric's own weave (double-woven), ensuring thermal insulation and maximum structure for the coat.
Size ITA 38 (corresponding to a S / UK 6 / USA 4), the measurements of the Burberry Brit Montgomery are as follows:
